Aimed at the fault diagnosis of the aircraft hydraulic power system, model-based diagnosis was introduced. On the basis of the architecture and behavior of the hydraulic power system, the paper analyzes behavioral modes of components and topological structure between the components. Using the object-oriented modeling language Rodelica, behavioral models of different components were established, and the behavioral model of hydraulic power system was built. The deviation between predicted data of the behavioral model and observed data of the real system is taken as input of diagnostic reasoning engine. Then the fault diagnosis of the hydraulic power system was achieved, and diagnostic decision trees of common fault diagnosis were obtained. Diagnostic results show that the behavioral model of the aircraft hydraulic power system was accurate, which could effectively locate the faulty components and identify their working condition. It is validated that the methodology is useful in engineering application.
