This paper has conducted two-dimensional unsteady numerical simulation of the performance of a type of straight-bladed wind turbine using sliding mesh technique with two wind speeds of 8m/s and 9m/s and stagger angle of 4 degree in terms of two types of installation method for asymmetric airfoil, which are concave-in and concave-out configuration. The power and the further power coefficient of the wind turbine are obtained by the output torque and the given rotational speed. The results have been compared with the experimental data, and show that the concave-out configuration can improve the ability of the power output for the wind turbine to a certain extent. The power coefficient can increase 25% at wind speed of 9m/s. Through the analysis of the flow field, it can be seen that the important reason of the rise of the power coefficient is that the concave-out configuration can reduce the region of the stall around the airfoil.
